Foster Team Collaboration

The more experienced a manager gains in his / her career, they tend to think they've mastered everything, they've got answers for everything, and they know it all. There are several times in my career history where there was a productivity problem, an employee's actions or a product problem, or some issue at all, that I confronted my reporting boss with a suggestion that would get me off like a fly buzzing around his ear.  The reaction will be "just do as I ask" with a smile. I used to get frustrated and think this is a bookish solution, even if there are conditions where it might be a solution, but if the problem persists, then the answer did not work. We 're not here to stick a bandage on an issue that we're here to solve and make it work. I used to think that he didn't know the golden rule of Henry Ford, "If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always had." He or she doesn't know that, but in...

Quality of Leadership

The term “leadership” vividly states to lead."Leadership has been used by so many people in so many ways that it is in danger of becoming a meaningless term. Second, leadership is still widely perceived as existing in a vacuum.Third, leadership is understood more or less by a top-down, attribute-based approach, where the monolithic leader proposes a set of plans that followers carry out accordingly. Leadership is a process of getting people to do things. Leadership is the responsibility.Traditionally, leadership meant power, but these days leadership means occupying a dominant position in promoting innovative ideas and promoting new products. They 're helping to make something extraordinary happen. Leaders influence the thoughts, attitudes and behavior of others. Leaders set the direction and help others to achieve a common goal. Leaders need to direct a plan and a goal. Leadership development is vital because organizations are taking on the personality of their leaders.Leader...

Communication Skills

Communication is the most essential and vital tool for success. Everyone is using sound and action as a medium of expression. I think the first human being on earth had to communicate to do anything. If I'm immersed in work, my dog will bark to tell me that he's hungry or that he wants me to take him out of work. As human beings, we can express our opinion about anything fluently. Of course, it only flows for some, and for some, they can hardly express their interest. It happened that some of the greatest rulers, kings, and politicians were in that position because they were great orators, and they were able to express their thoughts and be successful. The process of communication begins with a thought and a thought process that is a syllable or a way of expression.  Some say something by a word, some by action because we all know that words hurt more than actions. Words are going to make you think and make you react. Most of the unrest in the world today is due to someone'...

WORKERS COMPENSATION INSURANCE

There are several reasons to carry a worker’s compensation insurance policy. One, it is the law. Two, most contractors won’t pay you without a certificate of insurance (COI). Three, one of your employees may actually need it one day. Like it or not, insurance is a big part of business. Worker’s compensation can be especially costly depending on what you do to make a living.  Even if you’re paying premium every month, you need to verify that the class codes are correct for the work being done and you’ll need to get a certificate of insurance (COI) from all of your subcontractors, or your audit will cost you more than you expect. Finally, you need to know and manage your workers comp experience modifier (also known as an EMOD, XMOD or EMR).  How does it work? At some point, a few smart people got together and decided that the employer should pay when their employees get hurt on the job. Just like every other liability, someone jumped in and started offering an insurance to cover...

DCSHRM - Safety Management System

Image
The purpose of safety management is to control accidents that are caused by human error. Changing people from these accidents is impossible and not the right solution. So, safety management is introduced as an approach to control accidents. When accidents happen, they need to be investigated to figure out the causes and suggestions to prevent it from occurring in the future. Nevertheless, it is recognized today that implementing security management systems in organizations to promote operations in a safer manner might be more successful.
